Protection for belief about marriage
This amendment would look to insert a specific idea into the meaning of "Religious Belief" as the protected characteristic for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010.

There are no other specific beliefs enumerated as a potential religious belief.
After Clause 2
Insert the following new Clause—
“Protection for beliefs about marriage
After section 10(3) of the Equality Act 2010 insert—
“(4) For the avoidance of doubt, the protected characteristic of religion
or belief may include the belief that marriage should only be
between a man and a woman.””

“(4) For the avoidance of doubt, the protected characteristic of religion
or belief may include the belief that marriage should only be
between a man and a woman.”
