Bill:
Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill 2013
Stage:
LordsC
Proposer:
Lord Hylton and Lord Cormack
Verdict:
Bad
Synopsis:
Changes (in Clause 1(1) only the word "Marriage" to "Union". No other changes seem to be linked to this and "Marriage" remains throughout the rest of the document.
This is Amendment 1 in the Marshalled List for 17th June Debate.
Commentary:
The lack of a complete overhaul from "Marriage" to "Union" confuses me on this one. It's generally just an attack on the idea of marriages between same sex couples "marriage" so it's a bad 'un.
Amendment:
Page 1, line 5, leave out “Marriage” and insert “Union”
Bill Text:
1 (1) Marriage Union of same sex couples is lawful.
