About Me

I'm a 25 year old queer geek from Warrington.

I have a Computer Science 2ii from The University of York (UK). I was heavily involved in the Students' Union and my college JCRC whilst at uni which lead to me deciding to ditch the IT industry and spend 18 months or so working in a shop and volunteering at a CAB in order to switch to my current career - Adviser at a Student Union (Benefits, Student Funding, Housing, Academic procedures etc. etc.).

I'm interested in politics and consider myself very left wing. I am anti-ID Card, pro-choice, pro queer rights (but hate Civil Partnerships because of the separateness of them), believer in the NHS and welfare state, sceptical of political parties and the first past the post system, let down by New Labour and frustrated that any attempts at discussion with his friends leads to "who got him started?".

I am a geek. I love tinkering with lisp, prolog, haskell, C, php, (X)HTML, XSLT and most other programming languages. I'm not a fan of Object Orientated programming and think Ada should be redefined as a torture implement and banned under the Geneva convention. I am trying to learn more about Drupal stuff in order to provide more bug fixes and port some of my favourite 5.x modules to 6.x.
