Oops... bit dusty in here, mind you legs whilst I send the hoover round.
So, life continues. The biggest is change is (drum roll please) ... I'm doing an OU course: Introduction to Social Sciences. I've been thinking of this for a while but chickening out as I hadn't written a proper essay since GCSE Geography and English (a decade ago now). OK, yeah, I've done projects and reports and blog entries, but nothing to be marked (but as to why an essay being marked a scarier prospect than a blog entry open to the entire world - not got the foggiest). Pure sibling rivalry took over when Mum informed me that my brother was doing a engineering degree with them. Not going to let him get two degrees to my one - it's bad enough his is a masters (but I rationalise it as a Scottish masters 8-).
Is anyone watching this week's 3 Minute Wonders on C4 after the news? Some weeks they're brilliant - like this week's deaf episodes and a set a few weeks back of beautiful surreal stuff done by young people (are you in the carrot gang or the crisp group?)
I've also discovered Glee! What fun!! I'm not sure that the best sales pitches are "Like High School Musical: The TV Series" or "very moral of the week". Both are perfectly accurate (I think - I've never seen HSM - honestly) whilst at the same time not being terribly awe inspiring 8-).
And why did people keep Hairspray from me for so long?
Can you tell I had a week off recently?
So last weekend I went hovercraft racing. Yeah, me in charge of a moving vehicle. Racing. I think every eligible person managed to overtake me. There may be some photos on twitter (@penwing) later.
